Oh you don't really need skates here, your shoes or boots do just fine.
Everything is covered with a nice coat of ice, very pretty really if you don't need to walk.
I had the kids go out when it was still raining and make a sledding path across ours and the neighbors yard, so now they can go bob sledding at great speeds across the frozen iced up tundra. looks like great fun but I know me and I would end up hurt so I stay inside watching.
